Starting tomorrow, there will be important pipe crossing work taking place between US 60 and The Hills subdivision entrance. To safely complete this work, Wathen Lane will need to be closed daily from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

This schedule will allow residents to travel freely during morning and evening hours.

During the closure (9 AM – 2 PM):

Residents of The Hills subdivision will need to use the route through Wolf Hills to reach Green River Road.

Residents of Wolf Hills, Braxton Park, and Wathen Lane will also follow this detour.

The work is expected to be completed by the end of next week.

Henderson Police Department will be on-site at both ends of the closure to assist with traffic control and help keep everyone safe.

June 20, 2025

Crews are making progress on the Wathen Lane construction project! Right now, work is focused on curb and gutter installation just north of the entrance to Braxton Park. The contractor is aiming to have this area paved before July 4th.

We appreciate your continued patience as work moves forward. The full project is on track to be completed by mid-August, and we’re excited to see the improvements coming together.

June 13, 2025

As of last night, Wathen Lane is now open to two lanes of traffic from Highway 60 to Braxton Park.

However, please note that beyond the entrance to Braxton Park, the road remains closed. There will be no thru traffic allowed to Stratman Road or Green River Road from Wathen Lane at this time.

The Wathen Lane construction project is still on schedule to be completed by mid-August.

June 6, 2025

Weather permitting, milling and profiling will take place Saturday, June 7, with paving resuming shortly after.

During the week of June 9–13, crews will continue paving both the road and the walking trail. Temporary centerline striping will be added, and two-way traffic is expected to reopen by June 14.

Starting the week of June 16–27, work at the Braxton Park entrance begins. A section of Wathen Lane will be closed to through traffic for drainage and concrete work. Residents of Braxton Park will still have access to US 60.

Later this month, the final phase begins near US 60/Wathen Lane and past The Hills subdivision. The road will stay open with flaggers managing traffic due to overlapping work with the I-69 project.

May 30, 2025

Starting Saturday, May 31st the contractor will begin preparing sections of Wathen Lane for paving.

Here are the highlights of what to expect next week:

- Stormwater work should be completed by midweek

- Grading work on the multi-use path will continue

- Toward the end of next week, the existing road surface will be milled in preparation for new asphalt

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation throughout this project. Crews are working diligently to complete the work safely and on schedule.

The Wathen Lane construction project is still on schedule to be completed by mid-August.

May 16, 2025

Beginning Monday, May 19th at 6:00 p.m., Wathen Lane will reopen to one lane of traffic for residents only as part of the ongoing infrastructure improvement project.

-Temporary traffic signals will be active 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM daily at both ends of the construction zone (near Braxton Park & Wolf Hills Blvd). These signals will alternate one-way traffic to ensure safety.

-Public Safety Officers will assist during peak weekday hours (7–9 AM & 3:30–6 PM) to manage flow and monitor driving behavior.

-No cut-through traffic allowed — only Wathen Lane and adjacent neighborhood residents may use the road. Officers will actively enforce this restriction.

-Braxton Park residents will be able to enter/exit directly from Highway 60.

Please drive with caution, especially near driveways and signal-controlled zones.

April 30, 2025

Due to recent weather delays, the scheduled reopening of Wathen Lane—originally planned for today, April 30th—has been extended. The road is now expected to reopen on Monday, May 19th, 2025, weather permitting.

Please note: The closure affects the portion of Wathen Lane between Wolf Hills Boulevard and the entrance to the Braxton Park subdivision. This section will remain open to local traffic only during the extension period.

Important Reminder for Braxton Park Residents: You will not be able to access your neighborhood entrance when entering Wathen Lane from Highway 60.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as this important work continues. We’ll keep you updated on any changes to the schedule.
