City announces extended payment window for utility bills this winter

City of Henderson Announcements Posted on December 19, 2025

HENDERSON, KY, December 19, 2025– The City of Henderson is offering an extended payment window for utility customers during the winter months to help ease financial burdens on families.

Customers will have three additional days beyond the due dates printed on their utility bill to make their payments. The temporary adjustment begins with the utility bills arriving in mailboxes the week of December 14, 2025.

For customers with bills showing a due date of the 25th or the last day of the month, the extended payment window begins with the December bill and continues through the February bill. For customers with bills showing a due date of the 4th, 11th, or 18th of the month, the extended window begins with the January bill and continues through the March bill.

For example, if a customer receives a utility bill next week with a due date of December 26, 2025, the new extended payment window allows three additional days, making the revised due date December 29, 2025.

The City encourages customers to continue paying their bills as close to the original due date as possible but hopes the added flexibility will be beneficial during the colder months.

Residents are also encouraged to sign up for online billing to avoid potential mail delays during the winter season. Online billing allows customers to receive their utility bill electronically as soon as it is issued, helping ensure timely access to billing information and reducing the risk of missed or delayed payments. Customers can enroll in paperless utility billing at: https://bit.ly/onlinebillingsignup.
