World Changers

About

Workers on roof

The city’s World Changers’ program is partnered with the North American Mission Board and Lifeway which brings middle and high school-aged students from across the United States into Henderson for one week to undertake minor exterior repairs at no cost on homes owned and occupied by low-income families. The city’s annual blitz program, “World Changers,” operates somewhat differently than the above program. It provides only minor “exterior” repairs to eligible applicant’s homes and is usually undertaken in the month of July. The city also works closely with Green Valley Baptist Association who coordinates local churches in the feeding of students during the day at individual job sites. Homeowners may be on the waiting list a year before they actually receive assistance due to “housing repair need” among our citizens who cannot otherwise afford to make the necessary repairs.

Should you have an interest or wish to get on our applicant waiting list, submit your information online, or contact Tammy Willett, Community Development Specialist or Theresa Richey, Administrative Secretary, at (270) 831-1277 located in:
